Technology Jobs in the real World
Posted by: jstaggs on May 03, 2010
There are many technology jobs in the world. Some of these jobs include sales, web designer or maybe a computer science teacher. The technology part of sales is you have to use computers to find information to give prices to clients or maybe they just need to find special information on that product. A web designer uses technology in many ways. One, the person who is making the website needs certain programs for the computer to help you make the website. A computer science teacher uses technology in their job by teaching it. They use computers to demonstrate things and they teach kids how to use computers. Overall, there are many technology jobs in the world.

Scratch
Posted by: graifstanger on May 04, 2010
In the thing Scratch you can use sprites (a Sprite is a pixelized image based upon small squares) built in or make your own. When you use certain things on the side (I like to call them scripts) of the page, you can make your objects move, twist, turn, and all sorts of cool things. What I like is if you have the right variables and scripts, you can make a game with your sprites. If you make a game, you can see how people who create real video games what they have to go through. I would say Scratch is a fun thing to do but can get real frustrating sometime. Well that’s all I have to say.

My Job
Posted by: jstaggs on Apr 28, 2010
When I grow up I want to be an engineer in the Air Force. I want my job to be to be to design air planes that can benefit the Air Force. An idea I already have is having a plane that runs on a very green fuel like vegetable oil or bacon grease. This plane would be really aerodynamic. The techie part about it is this plane is remote control. I and a couple of other assistants would have remotes that can control the plane. On the air plane there would be camera that a person would man that would allow the navigator (an assistant that flies the plane) to see where the plane is going.

Penny and Peter Packet

Peter and Penny Packet!!!! Why it’s important!!!!!
I played Penny and Peter Packet today in my TECHie Club class. I learned about many parts of the computer. When you start a mission in the game, it tells you parts like the router, what a virus was and many more parts like a server and ID number and many more things.
It’s important because if I want a job working with computers, I will be able to have an advantage because I would already know it.
In the game, the bad guys were the viruses and hackers because they don’t want you to get your information.
I would want to work with computer when I grow up because I would work well with Peter Packet!!! Just kidding but I really would like to work with computers when I grow up!

Hackers and Viruses
Posted by: jstaggs on Apr 21, 2010
Hackers and viruses can do major damage to your computer. Hackers are people who try to do anything they can to get information from your computer. A virus is created and sent by a person to get information from your computer. You can prevent these things from happening to your computer by buying anti-virus software to prevent viruses and you can set up security for your computer so a hacker can't break through.

CIO
Posted by: kchenoweth on Apr 15, 2010
About 2 weeks ago, a CIO came to my school. A CIO is a man or woman that is head of all of that company's technology - which means he has some pretty big responsibilities, like making sure all the technology is working. He had come from Progressive Medical. CIO stands for Chief Information Officer.

Information Technology Jobs
Posted by: kchenoweth on Apr 11, 2010
Hi. Today in techie club, I learned all about information technology jobs. The computer game we played teaches us about what kinds of jobs are information technology jobs. It also can ask you questions, like 'would you like a bachelor's degree, a PhD, or masters?'. I went to college for a total of 9 years. I chose all the answers that I would enjoy, and in the end, it said I am most likely going to be a physicist! (My mom thinks I would be a wonderful physicist!)

What I did
Posted by: gtolliver on Apr 14, 2010
What I did over break was a lot of technology. You would think that you would be going to the pool or going to a friend’s house. But what I did was try to make an invention it was like a jewelry box that could open by its self. Isn’t that cool .I tried to make something that people didn’t have to touch. Maybe one day I could make something the only thing people have to do is talk.

ALGORITHMS
Posted by: tbruegman on Apr 06, 2010
We learned how to make algorithms. We used this to control our teacher to make a jelly sandwich. But when you make them, you have to be very specific. You think that making a jelly sandwich would be very simple but it’s not. You should try making algorithms!!!
